just got home from work and been forced to do a 10 minute detour as the main road form leeds into the village is flooded according to the policeman who wouldn't let me down it, anyway followed the detour only to be turned away from the bottom of the hill we live on by a second ploice man, again saying it was flooded  .
anyway once i'd convinced the second one to let me go up the hill, he couldn't really refuse as if the bottom of the hill was fine for him to stand at then "i'm sure the top won't be flooded officer" helped him see sense  .
drove up the hill past home and out of the village to have a look at the flooding to find 2 police cars and 4 officers time was beening wasted cos your average driving muppet can't manage to get though a 175mm(7") deep puddle over which is only 3m(10") in length.
feel better for getting that off my chest,

The flood we hit coming home from our Dales weekend in April was deeper than that Kev and it covered 2/3 of the road. When we hit it in the disco it actually slowed us down but the police out there never closed the road! Maybe they are more used to it out there as its a regular occurance

forgot to say that this one covers all the road and pavement at one side, thing that really winds me up is that i've driven through it 5 times today already, had presumed it had got wosre since lunch time :x

Doya' recon they would have stopped Jeremy Clarkson if he turned up in his toyboata!?!?!?!?!?
-
definatley not, 7" of water is far too dangerous for anything with a person in :?

A Policeman won't come out to guard a bit of a puddle around us unless it's 3ft plus deep and half a mile long

I live in Leicestershire, so the Police around here will happily attend any reported flood on any road in the county - THEN PLAY HIDE AND SEEK IN IT!!!!!
Unless - there's a speed camera nearby, then hell and high water  wouldn't keep 'em away!
I'm so young and so very bitter!
