Title: Seatbox Repair

Howdi all,

Im just after a little bit of advise with regards to repairing the edge of my seatbox on the S2.

Its become detached on the side lip which has the bolt holes, doesnt seem to be steel as the magnet isnt sticking so what repair can I do here?

Photo on its way in the next couple of hours.

Yup its aluminium, options, are replace the unit, rivet a repair piece onto it, or if you have the facilities get a welded repair done to it

Aluminium carpet strip did a repair job on mine. Place the strip on top of corroded bit and put bolts through :wink:

i got the same problem on both ends of mine
the best thing (other than a brand new one) i can think of is to fabricate a whole new end plate for the seatbox and rivet/bolt it into place

i think i'll be watching this thread with interest tho :)

Delays!

Anyways, here the photo.  Quite like the idea of making up a new end for the seatbox
