Title: Steering ball replacement?
Post by: BirminghamBros on May 27, 2006, 16:02:53
On my range rover classic even before fitting the lift kit I noticed a clicking when cornering especially on full lock. I have been told it is the steering balls, are these cheap and easy to replace or can they be refurbed? Or could it be something else? Thanks

It sounds like CV joint
£25 upwards depending on quality
Easy if you are mechanical
Outside of hub to bits, pullout shaft, knock off old joint, fit new one put back together.  Should take 1 to 2 hours to be done properly

Worth checking the oil level in the housing first as they will start to click if it's low !! Saves a lot of spanner work.
