Title: Discovery 2 TD5 2002 Model.

Can anyone tell me if this model has the same gearbox as a 300TDI or were they new same as the engines?

Also are they prone to failure?

A bit of both...   they are the same base unit, but with a few modifications.  Don't think they are especially prone to failure.
