help!
this is driving me nuts! well, more to the point its not driving anywhere...
i have nearly finished my swb s3 / s2 rebuild. i say s3 / s2 because its a kind of mish mash, with what i think is a series two chassis, and the rest is s3 bits.
anyway, i have just put the rear propshaft on, and the universal joints are fouling against the bolts that hold it in place, meaning that the propshaft wont do a full revolution.
its not fouling against all of them, but they are all the same size nuts. i have tried swapping the propshaft around, but still the same problem. i have also tried packing the end of the gearbox with a couple of washers to space it all out a bit, but this hasnt helped.
i am sure i have the right propshaft, probably, but someone must have some idea what is going on with this!
please help....

I'm not quite sure I understand correctly, but if I am understanding, try putting the bolts the other way through the holes.
-
cant turn the bolt round as it is fouling at the gearbox end, where there are captive bolts in place for you to screw the nuts on to.
does that make it any clearer, oh, and its the rear propshaft, not the front one.

a pic will help.
what about grinding the bolts down a little?
-
how have you got the vehicle at the moment? is the back axle fully drooped by any chance? cos mine bind when i do that.
once its on its wheels its fine
-
are the UJ's all operating properly and no worn needle bearings?
-
thanks guys.
it was me being stupid, and indeed it was just because the back wheel wasnt fully dropped.
doh!
and it took a full days work to get that sorted out!
