Title: Driveshafts

OK, having invested 72 hours doing battle with a Pajero I now need to change a driveshaft on the Vit (Passenger Side).

Irefuse to buy a Haynes manual as these have now been proven to be a work of fiction so :

Anyone have any suggestions on how to do this, I'm guessing it should be easy enough.

And does anyone have a list of the tourques for the bits that need to come off?

Passenger side is slightly different to drivers side.

Undo and remove the 3 bolts at the axle housing end of the driveshaft.

Remove freewheeling hub/hub locking plate.

Remove circlip on the outer end of the driveshaft.

Wiggle the driveshaft away from the axle housing where you removed the bolts.

Slide the driveshaft out of the hub (towards the engine).  Some wiggling may be required :)  It depends on your individual suspension set-up as to how easy the driveshaft will come out.  You may need to jack up the wishbone or the vehicle to obtain the right angle etc.

Took just under an hour to do passenger side, which was the side that was gone.

Joint fell apart while taking it out, boot had failed and was full of what was pretty much grinding paste

Ta anyhow.
