And it stepped out in front of me.
Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
It had nothing to do with the red mist :D
Made a bit of a mess of the front wing.

But we got the car looking a bit better with big hammers, crowbars, cable ties and tape.

The tree came off much better, the lines showing the points of contact of the top of the wing, the bumper and the tyre.

So I guess I'm looking for a wing now. :D
More on the BORC Ellesmere round will be in the write ups section when I'm more awake.

Good to meet you to Paul.
Wolfie - I'm impressed by the matching gaffer tape btw very professional.

good to see you kept it lit throughout the slight incident

Yeah, he wasn't really in a 'backing off' kinda mood
T'was one of our quicker runs, too!
The colour coordination was carefully planed. Well, we had this blue tape and it took us a few months to find a racer that matched!
Paul, good to meet you - you'll have to let us know how Mr Lewis does with the tune up.
Porny - we may well be in touch!
cheers

You should have learned by now the Land Rover never wins...

The trees were out to get people, one took out the steering on the Tomcat Rangie and my one did get visited by a few other people.
I kept my foot down after as from where I was sitting it looked as if there was just a slight dent and the car felt fine.
I really wasn't that close to the tree, there was a good few feet, Eeyore keeps complaining that it was too close :D . Funny how all the damage seems to be on his side of the car, in addition to the front wing, the rear wing is looking a little rippled and the exhaust got flattened (making the car sound as if it had a turbo) but the cracked door mirror (from the Hillrally) didn't get any worse.
On the plus side, I don't know if we will be able to match the paint on the car so I can start the transformation to another colour. No prizes for guessing what it'll be, but to give you a hint - I bought a winch for Heather just so I could fit Plasma.

Thanks to Porny and wing nut I now have more front wings than I have immediate use for. Cheers Guys.
Looks like fitting one of them will be Sunday's job. I'll try to look after the new one better than the last one, but having a spare pair is likely to prove useful sometime in the future.
Cheers
