Title: V8 strange noise

When i start my Discovery V8 it sounds fine even when you rev the engine, but once you put it into gear (Auto box) and stick your foot down it sounds like it is blowing the exhaust, but if you idle along at gentle reves it sounds ok  :?

Any one help please?

Maybe you have a small hole in the exhaust?  I say it just because when my fiesta got a small hole it was only audable when the engine was under strain.  Untreated it'll become more noticeable when not driving.

Try checking the exhaust manifold bolts - not the first time they have managed to loosen themselves and will be more noticeable under load
I they are OK then check the studs holding manifolds to downpipes

ditto v8kenny.  Very common source of exhaust issue.  I've seen the manifolds crack as well, though this is usually very evident.
