hi, i know my gearbox is going and was wondering does anyone know the best place to get a recon from and what kind of money am i looking at . as dont really want to go through paddocks as you know they will get it from somewhere else and put their bit on top

try ashcroft's, or MT transmissions, he advertises on eblag, £395 + carr and £200 surcharge

LEGS in Oswestry seem to offer a good service. They'll fit in a day but I expect that they supply as well.

I'm happy with the LT77 and LT230 that came from City Gearboxes  (http://www.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&rls=RNWE,RNWE:2005-19,RNWE:en&q=city+gearboxes&near=Coventry&radius=0.0&latlng=52405833,-1512634,7986287874540765162&sa=X&oi=local&ct=result&cd=1)in Coventry a while back.
