Right gotta go down to Fordingbridge tomorrow to scatter the Wifes Nans Ashes where she was born..Dont really want to go but she was a great old girl and I think its only fitting that I am there to support my wife andf see the old girl off as she would have wanted.
Thing is we are going to do a little sightseeing later as we dont get down there very often - apart from Stonehenge , can anyone else suggest somewhere to go and enjoy the scenery and do a little pondering and reflecting??

Fordingbridge leaves you with the whole of the new forest on the doorstep, or alternatively you have the lovely poole harbour (where i used to live) or a little further the purbeck hills, all fantastic areas with plenty to do and see, or some lovely places to stop and get some please and time to relax and reflect.
EDIT: Just up from Fordingbridge on the edge of the new forest @ ringwood there is a lovely pub called the red shoot inn, great food, a campsite and some lovely areas to walk around too :)

if it were me, i wouldn't bother with stonehenge, you can see it pretty well from the road (A303 i think) and they charge you 5 quid just to stand there and look at it.
But thats just me, i lost count ages ago of how many times i've driven past it so it's nothing knew to me

well we were suckers, paid the entrance and went for a wander...must admit it was a very calming experience - just what we wanted after the scattering...made you stop and think just how it was constructed and also why!!
also made use of a few pubs in the new forest ;) i had 1 for the old girl cos i was driving...also saw all the new forest ponies and foals!
