Came in to work tonight to find they have booked me on a course next Monday and Tuesday in Lichfield, so what's to do up there in the evenings??
-
What sort of thing you after - pubs, restaraunts :?:

Lichfield, a wonderful place.....
You can look around the Cathedral, and erm.... the Cathedral's a good place you know.
There's also thee ermmm..... Ah the Cathedral of course!
Get the hint? There's a Cathedral, a McD's and that's it. Thursday/Friday is better for night-life, but there are some good bars/pubs in the town centre.

Somewhere decent to eat would be nice as the hotel (holiday inn) don't do evening meals !!!! only bar snacks.

I'm sure some of our Lichfield guys might be willing to meet up and have a drink or two or three-you get what i mean, that way you get to meet mud clubbers as well.

If you like chinese there is a choice of The Ruby on St John St or Lee Garden on Greenhill. For Indian I personally like the Prince of India but there are a lot of good restaurants in Lichfield.
You will also find there are a lot of pubs in a small area so you don't have to walk too far.
Hope this helps & you have a good stay :D

Last and only time I was there was when I was joining the Army. Saw the station and the inside of the camp. Nothing else..............

If you want somewhere close to the Holiday Inn, then there are a couple of choices.
There is the Trooper at Wall (turn left out of the HI onto the A5127 northbound, next left after 300 yards, follow that to the crossroads and go straight over - it's on the right down the hill a bit). Decent pub and quality grub.
The other option is Shenstone to the south on the A5127. There's the Bull on the A5127 which is a Harvester or somesuch. Pretty good. In the village itself is the Fox (keep left at the war memorial and keep going - it's on the right) which people tell me does good food. Pretty okay pub too with a nice snug to settle into. It's the preferred pub for our cycling club meet on Tuesday evenings. Discerning bunch, cyclists...
Just avoid the Plough and Harrow in Shenstone - gone right down the pan after a change of management. :(

I don't :( but I am from Lichfield originally and moved out 5 years ago to live with Skutter. I also drove Taxi's in Lichfield for 12 years & believe it or not when I was single I used to go out with friends :D
as for heads of State it better than Ship Captains
-
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssss I got a bite at last :D :D :D :D
-
the pub in the middle of the roundabout is ok. Apart from getting lost and working on the canal just out side the town centre and a village hall we stayed in I dont much else sorry.
-
Has anyone mentioned the Cathedral ??!!! ...... the only one with 3 spires
Good Chinese - The Ruby.
But like most places, with be fairly quiet early in the week.
