i have a v8 rangie its as flat as a fart no smoke no rattles just struggles to maintain or even reach 70 a mehanic mate of mine has said maybe worn cams off road it goes anywhwere but introduce it to tarmac and it dies...........sugestions please or a good/cheap v8 mech [leedsish based] :cry:

what kind of mileage?
has it always been like this? or just started?
have you changed the HT stuff, leads ect?
have you checked the timing?
have you checked the tappits?
what kind of state are your air filters in?
have you had the mixture checked?

If its done some miles then it is quite likely to want a cam!

cheers fellas in reply to mark the answers yes to all but tappets and it runs on gas and its done 150thow so it would appear it may need a cam.......once again thanks......paul :lol:

Is it the same on petrol?
Check that the gas unit is warming up with the engine, and may be worth a tube up the exhaust to see what the emissions are doing
