Title: Electric cut off switch
Post by: davidlandy on July 29, 2004, 19:21:43
For my winch I have a electrical cut out switch on the passenger seatbox

the trouble is that I keep breaking those little red keys that come with them!!

Any ideas on where I can get a strong red key from?

Try Vehicle Wiring Products.

If they don't do a key, you can change it for a non-key type of switch.. then you won't have the problem any more :-)

I can get hold of nice chunky ones with a metal key... should be much cheaper than vehicle wiring products...
Will find out how much if your interested?  Not sure if the key is removeable.

Ian

yes please find out!  would really like the key to be removable as where it is on the front of the seat box it can easily be 'trod on' by little feet!

Are there any pics of it?

thx  dave

Should hopefully be able to sort some pictures etc out tonight.

And thinking about, I'm sure the key is removable, as you get a little red cap to put over the socket when the key is removed!

Sound just the thing, am looking for a new and better cut off switch as well, will be instrested in seeing the pictures and the cost.

Think mines in the same place as yours Dave, on the side of the battery box, under the passenger seat?

Phil,

mines in the middle of the seat box , just below the little clip that holds on the battery lid.  been thru 3 keys now - they seem to be too brittle.
