Front diff gave up last weekend and as the cv joints were clicking on lock decided it would be easier to replace whole axle with a later type with the better wheel bearing lubrication setup. have used the later type front arms but now it looks as though the axle sits a bit further forward to me. Are the later arms any longer or is it just me, I also fitted new springs while i was at it, my concern is that the lower edge of the dislocation cone will catch the shock, i am going to need cranked and corrected arms soon but not sure which ones to go for, do i need to get the older narrower type and use spacers to suit axle or straight for the newer ones. Any info greatly appreciated.

They should be the same. If it's lifted then the spring does look like it's too far forewards.
Go for the QT arms, they look like you've got your money's worth and they are the most popular choice by far in the club.
The only differences I'm aware of are the width of the bushes and the size of the thread at the chassis end and I think QT use M20 on all their arms anyway. As them about your concerns when ordering.

Went for a gentle play earlier and the shock is just catching the dislocation cones, have got some new polybushes for the rear of the arms incase it pulls them up a little more but think im going to have to go for the new arms sooner rather than later, was thinking of the QT ones anyhow, anyone know where they can be got for much cheapness??

Got mine at Donnington saved the VAT I think, saved the postage anyway.
BTW I checked the length of the arms with som espare I have, they are all exactly the same.

must be the bushes then, wont get chance to change them till next week now, will let you know how i get on. Thanks for checking for me..

I wouldn't thnk the bushes can make a lot of difference though as they compress down to the same size, unless you opted to tighten them up less.
Anyway, worth a look.
