AA are fair advertsing the £39 worth a try.

If not just sign up to the Mud-Club breakdown cover  as soon as that gets into swing.

Britania are pretty much the same price but that is for the delux personal cover which includes relief driver, homestart, euro cover, hotel bills etc AND covers us in any car/bike we are in/on even if we are only passengers  (euro cover is for only one specified car mind you)

I've been very happy with RAC been with them for years.  Have a refreshing attitude to recovery - if I tell them I need a truck, they don't send the chap with a little van out first!

when i was on the m4 i think it was an hour cos the truck was down in barry and it was international day (wales v south africa)

but previous to that the disco broke down in work so i told them when to be here (after work) and lo and behold they were)

its an investment you may never use but i bet as soon as you cancel... you car will break!

Got the AA package that gets you back home if they can't fix it at the roadside... cost £66 for the year.

Got it for when i am offroading as i'm expecting something to break soon.

I just switched to these guys as well - about £70 for two people, whatever we're driving and full home start service, and they paid up in a week after being called when SWMBOs exhaust fell off.

joined britania at the begining of the year and havent had a need to use them yet (touches wood crosses fingers etc etc)
Had AA for 3 years before and they where rubbish.
used the AA a few times and out of 6 call outs over a coupleof years they where resonable (not brilliant but did the job) had another call out where the guy didnt have a clue (water in distributor cap - solved with WD40 by me after the AA muppet had been fidling on for over an hour) but the final straw was when they left SWMBO and our 3 kids(all under 6 at the time) waiting roadside for 4 hours in the snow earlier this year.
they tried to blame there agent for delay but I know the owner of the recovery comapnay who they have agreement with and saw there logs and lets just say the AA where talking poo.

We complained to the AA and all we where offered was 1 months free membership.... told them where to stick it.
