In my constant hunt for a roof rack I have just been offered a free one for a 90. I am tempted to take it anyway but just wondered if anyone knew how much modification would be involved to make it fit my disco?
Thnks,
Mike

Does your Disco have the level change in the roof? If so I imagine it'd take a lot of modification to make it fit. If not, no idea sorry.

It does but I think the legs are high enough to clear the high bit of the roof at the back.
It might look a bit odd at the front with about 9 inch of clearance but still. It was more the width I was worried about. I could do with measuring a 90 from gutter to gutter but I haven got one to measure...
Cheers anyway,
Mike

You need to slighly widen the rack legs or chop them off and put the basket on some roof cross bars, which was like my old roofrack. (90 basket on roof cross bars)

it will fit but as said above you need to open the legs apart slightly for them to line up with the gutter

If you dont want it Mike I will have it and make it fit.
How about we share and you keep it in your garden?

Agreed, I have a 110 rack on my disco, and had to warm up the leg joints with gas to pull them out about an inch each side, but a 90 will fit on a standard disco

yep, just bought a genuine parts roofrack for a 110 off ebay... got to shorten it and pull the legs out a little, but it will fit, and will end up considerably longer than the genuine parts offerings designed for disco's..

Thanks for the info! I cant collect it as it wont fit so he is going to drop it off at work next time hes passing :D
Doesnt sound too bad to make it fit. Worth every penny ;)
