Tomorrow is the day of recognition for all Yorkshire born men & women.
The Yorkshire Ridings Society was formed in 1974 to help recognise the lost parcels of land that were given to Lancashire.
The White Rose has been a symbol since the battle od Minden in1759 where Yorkshire soldiers picked white roses in memory of fallen comrades.
My flag will be flying tomorrow (at full its height of 25', not the photographed height) and I'll be wearing a White Rose at work tomorrow

It's also Englands biggest county, with more acres than words in the Bible
The only reason the Cunard Steward' ('Two Jags' Prescott) has delayed the referendum over a regional Assembly is because we'd declare independance.
Plus it isn't too long since fathers rushed expectant mothers back to the 'Hallowed Ground' just in case it was a boy & therefore be eligable to play for Yorkshire County Cricket Club
Now for a rousing rendition of 'On Ilkla Moor Ba'Tat'
(I can't hear you :)

I've got to agree with those Richard, being a cricket, Queen and Star Trek fan.
Whopped it up the Windies today! Brilliant.
Andy, Gordon's Alive. Unforgettable.
Now then......
No cheating and looking it up on the net.
Who can name 5 famous Belgians?
There's a site on the net listing 200. There's not many that are household names and you'd be surprised at who's in the list.
Good on you all for flying the flag. Heritage and History are worth remembering. It won't be long before we can't fly our own flags in our own countries.
