ok as i own a 3.9 V8, ive decided that i want to get more power out of it, and the first thing i wanted to do was get some tubular manifolds to make it breath alot better......
..... i realy only want the manifolds and not a hole system, as i intend to get a side exit exhaust, as my dad ripped my last one off
i may decided to go for a whole system but would preffer to just get the manifolds, so if anyone can help me out on where to get some from, it would help me out alot......
i can get hold of tubular manifolds for the Range Rover, but i dont no if these will fit my 1994 DISCOVERY, if they will then ill just get them, but need as much help on comferrming this aspossible
hope more than one person can help me out here.... CHEERS

got mine from RIMMER BROS at lincoln.
i bought just the maniflod for a defender, the cost £330 inc vat.

nice one mark....
i was actualy looking at your manifolds in some pictures last nite and was going to send a PM
thats exsactly what im after but i dont know if they would fit on to a disco, because i dont no if anything else may be in the way.....
the picture below is the range rover manifolds which i can get but i dont no if they would fit my discovery, so need peoples help.....
some pictures of anyones range rover engine bay, and more pics of manifolds would be great
hope someone can help me

Sorry, Range Rover, Discovery, the difference is?
I didn't notice a massive difference fitting sports headers other than the noise. If anything I've more torque mid range but the car isn't any faster.

You wont find that much difference, you can make gains in the exhaust but if you dont increase the flow in the rest of the system there wont be any difference really.
On a high revving engine theres maybe 5-10% to be had from the exhaust as a whole ....but the v8 isnt high revving. You could flow the heads at the same time which would give you more of a gain and skim them to increase compression.
The standard headers arent good on the v8 but they dont cost 330 + vat .... and you dont have to fart about fitting them.

i dont know if there any differnces thats why i thought id ask, just to make sure there arent any.... you never know they might have different mounting points that might get in the way.....
i know im not going to get much power out of a the exhaust, thats just to make it breath better for when i mod the rest of the engine, like i said before i want a side exit exhaust anyway so will get a hole system made up, but still need the manifolds........ oh and also i dont care about speed, im after torque!!!!!!!
anymore help from anyone else??????

Is it 3 door or 5 door? I'm not sure a side-exit is legal if it exits ahead of any window that opens. Plus if you are after torque then don't shorten the exhaust too much, shorter pipes suite higher reving engines.
If you go for the cast iron manifolds then use the EFi ones, they are much better than the carb ones (2 downpipes instead of 1) wich is why I don't see that much improvement with a sports pipe.
You can also make small gains by wrapping your exhaust.
