If I drive my 4x4, I'm in the wrong. If I ride my motorbike, I'm in the wrong. If I ride my bicycle, I'm in the wrong. If I drive either our Renault Scenic or 30 year old Triumph Spitfre, I'm in the wrong. If I smoke, (which I do), I'm in the wrong. Can some-one tell me what the B****Y Hell I CAN DO. :?

You CAN get in line

Got to agree with mark. I can't remember who said it but " The price of freedom is eternal vigilance" Somewhere along the line our governments have lost sight of what it is they are really there for, and slowly our rights and freedoms are being eroded by people who wish to dictate our lives to us under the Banner of righteuosness. No examples necessary!
Now i'm off to have a drive in my gas guzzling Jeep, for no other reason than I feel like burning some of our precious oil reserves. While I still have the RIGHT and FREEDOM to do so!
F**K EM :(vamp):

Nuff said, f**k 'em

Cursing in public will land you an £80 on the spot fine under the new anti-social laws......That is a fact.
The govt. have not lost sight of anything, it is the way they want it.
Why do you think that we in the UK have 80-90% of all the cctv cameras in the world, just for 1% of the worlds population?
And let us not forget, it is not just the govt. that can police us and fine us, it is also the large corporates, such as Tescos........They have paid DVLA money for our details, this is so that if we spend too much time in their car parks, they can send us a fine in the post too, NCP do the same as do private wheel clamping companies.
Our future as private individuals does not look too sunny.
Think about what things were like 20 years ago, really, give it some thought.....Now, think about how that will affect the next 20 years and tell me that you want to be in this country in 20 years time.
If you study the media, how selective are they in their reporting?
The govt. Look at the way they control criminals, or in this time...Don`t control criminals etc. All the little things that they do that is not reported or made really freely available, they just don`t do stealth tax, they do stealth law, they have become experts.
Put a little corporate manipulation into the mix and you have a future that smacks of control.

drive a prius!
it seems thats the daaahling of the new age enviromentaly hippy poo
although do not believe the hype about the mpg!
-
Prius, shmius.... a recent report takes into account the manufacture and disposal of a car after a 10 year life. The Sandle wearers favourite is worse for the environment than nearly all the 4x4's out there.
The additonal engine and chemicals used to create the battery make it an environmental loser!
As for what you can do...enjoy your remaining freedoms while we still have them. :x

So are we saying that the Toyota Prius is the new world Citreon 2CV?
Great on paper but its turns out to be a stinker in the end?
I think i'll stick with my 30mpg Disco for now then

Yeah, I read about that too, it was called a 'dust to dust survey' and takes everything into account, like servicing, supply of raw materials, supply of energy (electricity doesn't fall like rain even if the tree hugers would have us believe it does) and recylcling. The prius is about the worst, as something over $6 per mile whereas a V8 Disco 3 comes in at $4 odd IIRC.
Where does that put a series 3? on balance hardly any have even been recycled and when they do there is no nasty plastic to dispose of. Restoration is the most eco frreindly way to recycle but try telling the tree huggers.

Does anyone remember a chap on the telly a while back, who setup a republic in his flat in london. A good way of sticking two fingers up to the would be oppressors. You'll still be able to smack your kids too.

I can remember how things were 20 yrs ago. As to 20 yrs hence? Well I doubt I'll be driving anything or doing much. Doubt I'll be around, except maybe in an old peoples home. :D As to being operated on. No thanks. You can come out of hospital with more than you went in with. That is if you do come out. Orson Wells was right. Just got his dates wrong.
