Title: 90 Blue Smoke Problem!!
Post by: MalBow on June 27, 2006, 18:07:46
I have an A reg 2.25l Diesel Land Rover 90, Im getting alot of blue smoke out the exhaust when its ticking over, it seems to ease off when I actually start moving although it does seem to be very 'fumey' all the time. Any ideas what might be causing it?

blue smoke would suggest it buring a bit of oil, probibly due to a worn valve stem seals or maybe worn piston rings.

its a N/A they all do that when its worn, could be piston rings, valve stem oil seals,to much oil in the sump

Cheers guys, had a feeling it was something like the stem seals, nice to have a 2nd opinion though!
