Homebase/fish tank pipe is ok, a lot of people have used it.

If I remember correctly it's 7mm.
I bought B&Q garden irrigation hose. Using their pipe joints to connect to the original breathers.

I ran new breather pipes on my Disco (Tdi 1996)to the side of the air filter box.

I snipped off a small piece of the breather pipe, measured the internal size by using a twist drill and then went to my local pneaumatic supplier and bought 30m of the stuff for about £7.00.

I also cleaned out the fitting on the axle at the same time.

I had to warm the pipe up slightly to get it on to the fitting on the axle.

The size of pipe I bought had an inside diameter of 4mm.
