i have just made a dispute with a buyer on ebay ,basically he won the auction for my 90 tub (99p)last thursday, contacted me on the night ,saying he will contact me to arrange collection next week ,and said he was kicking himself for missing the chassis ,anyway that was the whole of the contact we had made ,monday i contacted him again asking what his intentions were for collection and does he still want it,no repl, so wednesday i sent another automated ebay payment reminder ,still no reply so today i did the dispute thing ,stating buyer had not responded ,the replies have come back lol, im not condemming the man, but all i wanted to know was do you still want it or not, i do feel a bit guilty having to through ebay though .but was i right to ,or was i being a bit hastey,
its the ebay payment reminder dispute type thingy
not the dispute centre
-
dont they say that you need to give the buyer a certain amount of time to pay...?
give it another week
if still nothing then seek ebays advice
was the payment via paypal or any other means?
-
it was payment on collection ,and in big bold letters collection within 7 days.. its not the 99p its the collection bit i needed to know, as my parents want thier garden back.
-
He may just be a bit stupid/unintelligent  .
I had the same type of thing happen awhile back, after 2 weeks buyer finally answers my request for payment and comes up with the excuse... "oh sorry, I didn't read the payment instruction/requirements bit of the auction".
Turns out he didn't log into ebay for the two weeks, so didnt get my messages.
I now specifically state....."payment within 48hrs". Don't know if i can legally require payment so soon.....but it works :D .

I had a similar thing with someone who bought a games console from me. He won the auction then never completed checkout or made any contact. I sent emails and sent the invoice twice. 2 weeks later i started the dispute to get my FVF back and he complained saying i hadnt given him enough time to pay! Then a week later he sent the cheque and it bounced the first time and cleared the second.
Well this has only just occurred, i will close the dispute, leave him negative feedback (yes the transaction was completed but too much hassle inbetween!) and he cant leave me a negative cos i closed the dispute!

dont you just hate folk that dont make contact when the bidding finnishes
-
Generally on the smaller items i dont make contact when the auction finishes, i just pay and get on with it, but the bigger items i always send an email with details.
-
i clearly stated collection within 7 days ..the tub sold for 99pence so it aint the money i was bothered about ,8 days later i have to have a moan to ebay
-
I've been down that route - sold some spotlights on there didn't get any replies to mails so after 7 days I sent the unpaid item dispute thing - got an arsey email back claiming that an email had been sent (yeah right!). It worked out in the end - pillock sent cash through the post and wrote "fuses enclosed" on the envelope to put the unscrupulous post men round here off
Sometimes they just need a nudge to remind them - 7 days is more than enough notice before starting the proceedings I would say.
-
 cheers  i thought i was being a moaning ol git lol

I PUT TO DISPUTES IN THE OTHER DAY, YOU HAVE TO LEAVE IT 7 DAYS, I HAD NOW CONTACT TILL PUT DISPUTE IN, BUYER THEN MAILED ME WITH SOME EXCUSE, WEEK LATER STILL NO CONTACT, GOT ME FINAL VALUE FEES BACK NOW, TOLD HIM WHAT I AM DOING, RELISTED THE ITEM, WILL LEAVE BAD FEEDBAK IN A FEW DAYS
(sorry about caps, did relise till half way through! )
you done the right thing, if people can be at computer to bid, even more annoying if in last minutes then not send you a email or paypal payment etc straight away is rude and very annoying!
-
Problem there thumbs is they use snipe bidding software (which is another annoyance) so they generally arent there when the auction finishes.
-
 everyman to himself ;)
-
didnt think of that!
but even so why bid if you really have no intention to purchase or collect?
cant see how they do it for kicks :?
-
far too many idiots out using it that just keep clicking buttons and b4 they know it they have commited to summat they dont want. i dont often use ebay to sell but im always buying stuff as one mans rubbish is anothers gold and lol with the amount of landy junk in the garage i bet i could make a hybrid by now
-
i ended the dispute by mutual agreement and wont leave feedback ..but now need to get rid of the tub doh
-
Err, a 90 tub, that's aluminium right? well it's worth more than 99p in scrap surely?
-
it is yes and i have more but,as i had a few watchers i let it run its course, shame only one person bid on it , he was after the chassis ,but he didnt win that so im assuming he didnt want the tub without the chassis  those that have contacted me ,im open to sensible offers ,or the tub gets it
