I Run a 95 discovery and have had it for about 4 months.I have only just realised that I havent got any ABS lights do discoverys this year have abs or is it faulty and the lights disconnected if so does this affect normal braking. any help appreciated

hi my 95 disco does not have abs i believe it was an option

I also run a 95 Disco with no ABS Dave, I think it was either an option at that time or only fitted to top-of-the-range models.
To check if you have ABS fitted, look under the bonnet and sitting on top of the inner wing, between the air filter box & the washer bottle, you'll find the ABS modual(sp) with a load of pipes coming out of it.

Do ABS Discos still have a brake servo then, because Rangies don't so it's dead easy to answer that one.
The other thing to look for is the ABS sensor wire in the top swivel pin and the bolt heads for the sensor rings inside the rear disk hubs.

Checked out under bonnet and cant find any wires etc so ABS not on this model. : :)

Easy to check if it's working. Find a slippy surface and just stomp on the brakes as hard as you can. If you've got it you'll soon find out.
I don't really like ABS in some off-road situations so I have one sensor set slightly high so that the system sees a fault and doesn't activate at 5mph. You have to 'fudge' it to make it work, but that suits me fine as then I can choose whether or not to use it.

Yes, they do.
