Apart from the number on the bottle, whats the actual difference Mike? The dealer alegidly changed my gearbox fluid for some "better" ATF oil when i took it back with troubles engaging gears.

I use Unipart MTF94 in my R380, and Land Rover now recommend using Texico MTF94 or an oil with the same specs, as do Ashcroft's.

Now my R380 is out of warranty I use the synthetic stuff sold by Difflock. It has had good reviews in the magazines and seems to make a significant difference in cold weather, now instead of being terrible it is just bad (gets better when warm though).
I would recomend it  (it lasts 3-4 times longer as well) but I wish LR could have produced a decent gearbox in the first place.
