Last night just as we were about to go to the Mudclub meeting there was a knock on the door & someone asking if they could have there car back :? , He's only just passed his test & had started the car in gear, as you can see from the images I was in the middle of replacing the rear brake's, luckily we were going to the meeting otherwise I would have been lying under it
He has offered to pay for the damage, but has not seen my two Estimate's yet  (I am an assessor for accident insurance work).
John.
PS:- TD5 has been hit 4 times outside the house in 18 month's
-
  you were under it just before he did it? lucky you were not when it happened, driving instructors have a lot to answer for
-
As you say, it's lucky that's you weren't under it.
At least no-ones hurt, just from the lads pride.
I bet he'll check it's in neutral from now on
-
Of all the people to hit - an insurance assessor
Good to hear you weren't under it

Not quite, I assess them for an independant bodyshop, (which means I get as much £ as possible out of each job),
John.

-

Pushed it about 4 or 5 foot & it was on axle stands at the time but had to jack it up to get it off his now flatened bonnet
John.
-
i like them mach 5's john :D ... the pictures are much better now
-
Any after removal pictures? lol
-
I notice 'the family' came out.. probablt to insist it was YOUR fault for leaving it jacked up...think of a number double it and add a 0... :D
-
As already said, good job you where clear at that moment.
You road sounds a bit of a nightmare for parking.
I hope it not of the road to long

Just a quick update,
The owner of the Astra has admitted full liability  , it is now going through his insurance company 8) , & as my eldest daughter work's for a non fault accident management company we should have a Disco 3, by the weekend [-o< ready for our break away  , not sure iof they will be to impressed if I ''off road'' it  ,
TD5 is an easy repair, but due to cost's Disco 1 may be a Total loss but no worries there as I will retain salvage  ,
Thanks for all your concern's John.
PS:- added a couple of pic's of the Astra bonnet & the disco with the nice new mach5's
-
thats a bash out with a size 9 kinda dent
-
Rear wheel's back on... does this mean it's all finished?
-
Just a good couple of day's welding to do oh & spend some of the insurance money on some new goddies for it before swmbo gets har hands on it
John.
-
glad ur ok i must admit those mach 5's look verysexy indeed :D
-
Looks like he got of lightly... considering he had 2 ton of Disco perched on his astra...!
-

Err excuse me, that's lesson 1 and the start of every subsequent lesson thereafter. If new drivers drove the way we taught them once they had passed there wouldn't be any accidents on the road.
Still, best lessons hardest learned.
If I were you I'd blow a couple of hundred on a Southdown rear end, then when it happens again you should just slide off with no damage done  unless he reaches the diff
-
if you want hand with the welding john gimme a shout :D
-
Shouldnt the Astra's plate be D'UH
-
thats brilliant disco on an astra, bet it would have done more damage if it had been on its wheels!
thank god you wernt under it
sting them for as much as you can, i would :D
