rebuilding my propshafts with new uj's.
alls well apart from, the last yolk is smaller than all the rest, meaning that when the bearings are pressed in they stick out very slightly from the yolk, so the circlips cannot be fitted.
is this a series 2 yolk?
-
Have you measured them? According to Paddocks, early ones (pre '65) are 2 15/16, later are 3 3/16ths (thats measurements for the UJs btw)
-
dont know what they measure, i just know one fits and one doesnt.
if anyone has a knackered prop they dont want i will relieve them of it :D

Hmm
Sounds as though one of the rollers has dropped out of place.
Is it a front or rear, i can confirm that the fronts are the same UJ each end (just done inked raven's today).
Unfortunately i can not lay my hands on the parts manual to confirm about the rear's
It may be worth popping the cups out to check for an errant roller.

thabks for the reply james, i think ive sorted it.
the series 2 and i think 2a, had smaller yolks on them, at some point my prop has been bodged up with the series3 yolk ands a series2 yolk.
