Title: propshaft yolk too small.
Post by: mark.yellow.series.3 on July 11, 2006, 23:25:15
rebuilding my propshafts with new uj's.
alls well apart from, the last yolk is smaller than all the rest, meaning that when the bearings are pressed in they stick out very slightly from the yolk, so the circlips cannot be fitted.
is this a series 2 yolk?

Have you measured them? According to Paddocks, early ones (pre '65) are 2 15/16, later are 3 3/16ths (thats measurements for the UJs btw)

Hmm

Sounds as though one of the rollers has dropped out of place.

Is it a front or rear, i can confirm that the fronts are the same UJ each end (just done inked raven's today).

Unfortunately i can not lay my hands on the parts manual to confirm about the rear's

It may be worth popping the cups out to check for an errant roller.
