Right this will get you :? or not??? :shock: I have just had my clutch done and now the gearbox will not spring back from reverse!!! :cry: So when i think iam going in 1st its reverse :x it will spring the other way but not from the reverse...any ideas?? :x cheers guys Ali

lift the gearstick gaiter and underneath there is a wire spring setup that fits over both sidesof the gear lever.....has one snapped???

even though they are both there it might be worth checking they are adjusted correctly, did anything get damaged when the gearbox was removed and was it o.k before the clutch??

what box is in it cos it should be an R380 goin by your sig,so first & reverse are on oposite sides o the change from each other

I have had to put a lt77 box in as the R380 was shot and i couldnt get a spare :? :? So was te easiest option at the time ..just had to change the speedo on the lt77

i have the lt77 in mine ali mate......and its the same. when i go for 1st gear i go to 2nd first and then in to 1st...... no accidently going in to reverese :wink:

The 2 big coil spring you see are to make the gearstick centre sprung ie between 3rd and 4th. SOme =boxes have bigger springs than others but that's another issue.
Reverse has a little plunger at the LHS of the selector housing which in turn operates the pushrod for the reversing light. Is this goosed? Do your reversing lights work? stay on all the time maybe?
There is an adjustment of the clearance to this plunger when in 1st gear that is made using shims under the housing, it allows just enough clearence without rattling.
