1994 300TDi how do I get the barrell out to fit a new one?
How much is a new one
I need to remove the barrel ASAP as need to do the school run in the morning.
It has done this before but managed to jiggle it ant it worked, but not this time

You will be better off getting a new ignition switch, removal and refitting is pretty straight forward but you will need a small chisel to remove the bolts fixing the thing to the steering column, you will also need to replace the bolts as they arnt re-useable.
When your key started to stick its a sure fire indication the barrel was on its way out.

Cant I just buy the barrel? or must I buy the whole assembly?
-
According to my parts book you can only obtain the whole ignition switch as an assembily. What you call a barrel Land Rover call the whole casting.

I have the Rave soft ware and cant find it on there?
How much then?
I just need to get it started in the morning to do the school run, I should be able to get the barrel out, I bet its the same as one of the other Rover ones?

On the 200 you can pop the electrics section off the back of the lock, held with two small screws
If you have disengaged the steering lock off the assembly you can start the motor with any suitable flat blade screwdriver
Also only dealt with the 200, but they are interchageable with the rrc units
