Who will that interfere with :?: :?:
-
5 hours to be correct.
8 hours to be even more correct, at least for the first two charges and 5 hours minimum thereafter.
Still a bloody long while to wait though...
-
Yep
Can't drive that any better than the real think.
It is good though, just got to get a caravan to hitch on the back.
-
Here's me thinking you hadn't got room for anymore Land Rovers...
Bev bring it to the rally I want a go...

You are correct Tony but I had trouble waiting 5 hours I could never have waited 8.

I wonder if they are all going to be on 27.145 :?:
Better get a tuned circuit fitted to see how far I can drag the frequency.

Just tell her your the only one who hasn't got one and you'll be the laughing stock of the whole Mud Club if you don't get one.
If she still says "No", then stamp your feet
-
Tell her who wears the trousers..

Ed
-
Icom 706 100w.
No I wouldn't.
Would I?
Ed
You would be breaking your licensing conditions if you did..
-

SEX what that then.
The number after five
-
It would be a harmonic!
Ed
-
It would be a harmonic!
If the harmonic is 100w then the fundermental frequancy power
would be in excess of your licensing conditions...
-
You've not seen my high power licence!
Ed
-
Ed - working at the mo, no PC still not fixed :)
Up north in Staffordshire a little village called Yarnfield at the X- BT training collage.
Have a bit of time to kill between jobs so I've popped in to keep any eye on you lot :)
-
You've not seen my high power licence!
Someone's telling stories.. :^o
-
Like the nose icon.
I used to do moonbounce and did have a high power licence.
Phil,
Is that the one that the RAF built as BT couldn't get planning permission and then they sold it to BT?
When BT was the old GPO?
Ed
-
Sounds about right Ed, you know the history better than me, even tho I worked for BT for 18 years, But BT have now sold it to Accenture, and accenture sold off the IT department to Perot, who I now work for.
-

I think I missed something here. I'm following a toy story and then Icoms, harmonics and high power licenses crop up with apparently no continuity between the two :?
Surely if the harmonic is 100w the fundamental wouldn't exceed the conditions of his license... Assuming it's an "A" class license permiting 400 Watts? There must be something seriously wrong if the TX is allowing that amount of spurious power to TX on a harmonic?
I only seem to be getting snippits of this thread so ignore me if my stick is the wrong way round.
Either way I got more fun on my homebrew 1 watt CW TX OXO than I ever did on a 100w black box.
Must renew my license sometime.
-
It's gone a little off topic with talk of Amateur Radio....
All started with Bev saying the frequency that his new toy was on..
-
Hey, your very own rock crawling terrain in your back garden...... how cool is that?!
yep keeps the kids happy and gives me a place to play with my woops Marks new Toy
-
Tony,
Are they any good..?
How long does it run for on a charge..?
-
I wish I'd waited a while, for an extra few quid I could have had one with lights, opening doors and bonnet plus lots of other goodies.
-
Ha got one of those  Haven't taken it off-road yet [-X
-
Hi Tony M0AWB,
Occasionally we drift off topic. In fact more often than not in Mudclub. The bar is like anywhere else complete with winding each other up.
I've been down the "oner" route. 1kw amplifier, home brew. The W1SL whistler with a pair of 4cx 250b's. Tentec's and virtually all modes. In fact I worked all 5 continents in 24hrs using 100mw from a Racal unit.
1w or 1kw having bounced a signal into America (or anywhere else) are both as satisfying. It's a bit like anything else. everyone gets their kicks in different ways.
Congratulations on the Oxo and keeping the RP side going. Home brew is a dying breed these days.

That one is not amphibious though
