Sounds like u need an engineer more than a mechanic. Try asking local fast fit type garages where they send their heavy engine jobs or get heads skimmed etc.

Post by: Rangie3.0LtrDan on July 17, 2006, 22:05:17: None of them would touch it, nor would they recommend anywhere, they just said they wouldnt do it, have written an email of complaint to all of them stating that last i checked the manifold was part of the exhaust and their "everything to do with exhausts" type attitudes should cover this, awaiting responses now!

I have a replacement head but i havent got the first clue on how to fit it!

Post by: Range Rover Blues on July 29, 2006, 13:38:00: Depending which head it is they aren't too hard to do, it's all the stuff you have to remove first, that's why the one with the PAS pump and alternator is not my favourite.

I'll bet it's the back stud that's goosed too, right. Originally they wer bolted into the head so if it's studded then someone has already had problems I'd guess. If the thread is gone it needs helicoiling, if it's just sheared off can you see any of it with the manifold off?
