evening all can anyone advise me . i am looking to replace the oil in the transfer box and gear box .the problem is i am not sure what type of oil to use the haynes manual says to use ep80/90 for the transfer box and to use atf !! oil for the main gearbox . is this right? it is a k plate and i am not sure if this advice is right ? any help would be aprichated as we are looking to go to billing this weekend and i want to change it before we go many thanks..

yeh you use ATF for the main box & EP90 for the transfer box

think im at that stage now.....developed a nice drip from trasfere box now :(

tis off to scotland in just over a weeks time..... so looks like i might be topping it up along the way :wink:

Just don't do what I did and put EP90 in the main box :shock:. Got 200 yards and couldn't get in to any gear. Made allot more work for myself darning it all again after. #-o. EP90 stinks as well. Could smell it for days

Whereas I ran a B-W T-Box on ep90 for a year with no harm done at all, I even added some oil stabiliser to that and all it did was stop the noise from the front prop/diff coming through the transmission (pre castor correction).
