If you do a shackle lift on a sammy, wont you get problems with clearance, caused by the shackles?
-
most of the time u do, coz the shackles sit lower than normal, take a look at mine i have a 3" shackle lift on mine but im taking them off in the next few weeks and cutting them down to 1.5"
-
you going to do a LR suspension conversion?
Also with that sort of lift, do you need stabilizers and need to adjust the drive shafts or summat?
-
i had shackles on mine but by the time it was lifted there was no travel left in the standard shockers so seen as i'd made the shackles at work i binned em, a better option would be to use suzuki super carry springs (sooty van) these give a 2" lift using standard shackles so you dont get the clearence problem.
thats my next mod anyway

would you no be better going SPOA to go that high?
mate did his & it sits about where yours is & has plenty clearance

nah reading up some articles coz i'm bored ;) reverse shackles would be a better option and give you 2" lift :)
-
if all your lookin for is 2" lift why not get +2" springs? no need for shackles then

thought sammy's don't have springs?

yer thats what im doing mikey :) SPOA plus 1.5" shackles
and see how big and stabalised it is with that and maybe think about body lift
-
so what does the sunny springs do to the suspension apart frin tge 2" lift.
they make the ride harder and bouncer?
Also doesn't a SPOA twist the axles?
-
Little Dan, your front springs look a little on the week side judging by the curve in them.
After looking at the 3" shackles, I think I will go for a body lift rather than a sus lift.
Any one know how far you can lift a body without getting into too much bother ????
-
a 2" lift spring can be done with out havin to alter the brake hoses etc.3" is where you have to start playin with stuff!spoa is ok if you wanna roll the zookextendin the shackles does not give any more ground clearance than standard. my zook was totally stanadrd appart from a set of 16" wheels and mt's.never had a problem with it!

Remember body lift doesn't = more ground clearance (except for the slight benefit of extra clearance at front & back!!)

Body lift mainly for tyre clearance, along with no bumpers should be enough for me.
Dont like the look of those extended shackles too much, looks like you could get snagged up, plus they look a bit flimsy
-
howler get the reverse shackle lift kit then.
-
Shackle lifts are 'orrible.
Do a coil conversion
