Title: Memory Seats
Post by: waveydavey on July 25, 2006, 22:15:29
Can anybody help with this idea?

I have a P38DHSE, one of the few spec differences to the V8 version is the lack of memory seats but they are electric.

Is theECU different or is the function in there and just not activated? If the latter is there any way of activating it?

Not a big issue but if it can be easily activated it would be nice. Wifey & I have very different seat positions.

AFAIK the seat memory bit doofer is part of the BCU unit which is under the drivers seat & controls everything & is also barcoded to the vehicle,

so in short dont think so

If they are as unreliable as on the Classic then don't bother.  It's wired to the mirrors too and the conections in the wiring are somewhat different, you may be better off buuying S/H seats and stripping the bits you need.

Cheers guys; it was only an idea and not worth buying more seats, pressing a button isn't really that much hard work after all.
