Title: Sad passing
Post by: discograham on July 27, 2006, 21:37:48
This is an odd one.. and a sad one...
My sons best friend was a great lad... he was 15 and died on Tuesday. We didnt find out until today as we were in Cornwall and no-one told us.
I don't think I've stopped crying since I found out..  (no shame in that)    I've known him since he was in nappies...   leukaemia got him in the end... so much he will never get the chance to do.
we didnt even get chance to say goodbye..
So I am now.
 Rest in peace Wes.

I am really sorry to hear of your sad news, I know what it is like to lose a friend at a young age, I cried buckets, your right there's no shame in that mate.

Can't imagine what it must be like for his parents, and your son, my thoughts are with you all.

Glad he's doing well mate.

I've had 5 good friends die from various things (one was murdered) in the last ten years. It never leaves you, but 6 years ago my daughter was born & she really does make life worthwhile.

Know how you feel,
lost my nephew at the same age, it was 12yr's ago & time does heel but when something like this happens I still cry about him, he fell backward's down the stair's during a fit (suffered with phisical & mental problems) & broke his skull,

It's good to talk & cry (Real men cry),

Sorry to hear of your loss, there is no shame in crying at all it shows you are human.

I too have lost friends of a young age and it almost feels worse than when people of more senior years die.

Life is so unfair.

Sorry to hear that.
its always bad when a young friends goes.
and nothing wrong with crying
hope you and your familly find comfort in the fact he is no longer suffering
and is playing in the ultimate theme park now.

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

rest in peace Wes.

and for those left behind, you dont get over it, but you put it in its place and live on.

You know, I expected a few kind words from some of you, but not the kind of response that you have given. I thank you all for the words of kindness, and the lovely poem from freeagent.. some of you have suffered yourselves and know how we feel..
So thankyou once again for your thoughts and comments.
