If its modded and you dont declare it you are a fool...its normally cheaper anyway.

hmmm, dont ALL insurance policies have a clause about racing?? so even if it had nothing to do with the accident they CAN and WILL use it against you......nearly had me a few years ago, renewed the policy then read the small print, NO COMMUTING, so had to ring em up and complain, was no difference in cost, but one more way of getting a 'get out clause; built in ...
-
but he did declair it?
just insurance companies being arseholes.
-
Most insurance companies will pick any hole they can not to pay out - or take so long you're left wondering if they forgot you exist - such is the joy - if they want money you better pay it now or else but if you want it - please wait a few years.
On another slight tangent companies not paying out is not the greatest issue if you don't declare - it renders your insurance void and opens you up to prosecution for driving without insurance.
-
I only read so far down the thread, and the fool admits he told a lie, white lie or not it makes no difference to an insurer.
On the voiding issue, where I used to live there was a problem with "cruisers" at the local drive-thru. Plod rolled up, handed out 7-day wonders all round, and before the night was out had actually telephoned many insurance companies and "queried that the car was correctly insured as modified".
Net result a lot of people with 8 points & 1500 quid fines, and trying to get insurance with an INS10 on your licence is verging on impossible, especially when asked if you have had cover refused or suspended in the past

Yep it catches a lot of people out, as was said earlier:-

Anyway if you spend a fair sum on the mods surely common sense says declare them so at least if something bad happens you can get some money back on the expensive additions.
