yep just got back from holidays and there a nice letter of the boys from blue fixed penalty division informing me I 'd been caught speeding in my landy doing 50mph in a 40 limit
can't argue looked at the speedo when I passed and it was reading 46 but with the bigger tyres I recon nearer to 48 they recon 70 on the speedo indicates 74 with the tyres I,ve got on
its the sneakyness thats got me peeveed it was on the 69 going towards hexam , there was a speed restriction of 40 going through roadworks the road works finished I,m tucked behind white van man who starts to accelerate after the road works he suddenly dives left leaving me to overtake and there 100yds after the works is the national speed limit sign under the bridge with a speed safe camera ontop of the bridge zapping me
thats not a camera based on speeding in a hazard its a revenue taker

if it makes ya feel better, the wife is doing her driving safety awareness course today, down in dorset------ 36 in a 30 ------- p.s she also drives a 90 , she still got the fine but offered the course instead of the points (fair swap i would say)
-
I got zapped last Saturday.... 46 in a 40 and I'm hoping I get offered the course too!
-
when i booked doing a forty in a 30  may i add it was not even a built up area!!! before anyone slates me... how come i just got a fine and points but not offered the course :?: :?

If it makes you feel better even us on the dark side get zapped - After spending a day driving a much lower and quite a bit nippier car (within the speed limits) I managed to absent mindedly let my landy crawl over the limit and like everyone else i got the points and the fine. It happens - although after years of ticket free driving I was a little dissapointed - Lesson learned and now when I switch car I glue my eyes to the speedo

After chatting to the wife tonight, it appears all the people on the course were "just over" the limit, for example 35-36 mph, im only guessing that they must have a criteria for courses/ points ?????
also she had to travel back down to dorset (the area in which the offence occured) i know that its quite a new option down there, but a friend in berkshire did the day about three years ago, so it appears a regional thing
chatting to "other sinners" on the course today it became apparent that theres a web site to view your actual picture on ( should you wish) but nobody there could remember the web site, any one know of it ????
AAAAHHHHHH BUT------- what if it was me who was driving  --- and not the wife, as we were on holiday and had no real idea where the offence actually occured MMMMMNNNNNN thinks, glad she dont look on here as welll as i

Hehe nope and I didn't get to just give myself a warning slap my own wrist and go home satisfied justice had been done - I got the nice surprise through the post from the mobile unit I never recalled seeing!
Not to mention the embarrasment of having to state occupation on the Notice of intended prosecution for the fine.[/quote]

I should add "but sir I just bought a slower car, I don't understand how it happened" is not the best line of defence.
