Title: 90 Turbo Exhaust
Post by: graham2306 on August 07, 2006, 16:48:08
I have finally managed to get all the bits required to fit a 90 Turbo exhaust to my 90 with a Disco engine.  I need to know how the rear end og the exhaust is mounted to the chassis, I've got all the bits but no part diagram showing where the bracket botks to on the chassis.

The truck had a 2.5 NA in it origina;lly and all the exhaust mountings are in a different place.  I have put a Disco 200Tdi in it and I've got a 2.5 Turbo exhaust to go on it.  If you've got a 90 2.5 Turbo and a digital camera how about doing me a favour and taking some snaps of the exhaust bracketry.

Its a bit of a custom setup there, different engine, different exhaust so your best bet is to bolt it on, and then attach the beackets where they are needed...kinda trial and error but hopefully without the error :)

I know it is a bit of a custome setup, but the Steve Parker downpipe and the 2.5 Td exhaust fit toegether really well.  Yes mike I still have the centre box, big round one, not the flat one.  I also have all of the Land Rover brackets to fit it, so I would like it to fit like a Land Rover one should, to avoid the trial and error bit.

So if anyone has a 90 Td then I am particularly interested in where the mount nearest the rear end goes.  It is a rubber hanger thingy on a long bracket with a flat triangular plate with two bolt holes.  I have had a look round on the chasiss for a couple of holes it would fit in but so far haven't found anything.  this may be because I have a galvanised replacement chassis and it doesn't have the holes, but if I don't know wher I am looking for them I won't find them.

Thanks folks.

Thanks for that, it looks very different, but it gives me a clue about the line the pipe should take.

Disco II owning mate of mine has finally seen the light, turned up the other night in a 90 Td powered truck cab with Ivor Williams top.  So I now have a reference model and problem solved, thanks for the help everyone.
