Title: Rear screen wash....
Post by: Jimbo on August 09, 2006, 10:41:37
Ok, daft question time - where is the washer bottle & pump for the rear door ?

My 110 is the basic HT so has no rear wash/wipe, but I'm planning on reinstating it - the wiring loom seems to be in place (in the o/s rear corner), but I can't figure out if the water feed would come from the front screen bottle, or if there should be a second bottle in the back someplace.

Doh - think I've found the answer on RAVE, there seems to be a second pump on the front bottle...........guess I need to route a bit of plastic hose from the front to the back

I've seen a couple of really early 110's that had a second bottle in the rear door for the washer. Might have been an aftermarket add on though.

I had a CSW 90 roof (now on a muddyweb vehicle, I think) which had the pipework for the rear washer in, suggesting that it's a simple case of routing the pipe through the bulkhead, up the side of the screen behind the trim, and then down the side of the roof (under the headlining if you have any). Probably easier to aim for the passenger side, as you'll need to get behind the dash...

If it's more straightforward for you to get a switch feed to the back door area from the dash, it might be quicker (and potentially cheaper) to get a pump and bottle from a scrapper and site it in the roof space in the rear of the vehicle. Much shorter run of pipe to leak in the winter as well!!!

Cheers

Ben

Ben

I did think of mounting a bottle in the back somewhere, but I'd like to stick with OEM switches - so it looks like a long run of plastic hose (this is assuming that the rear wash/wipe loom is behind the switch blank on the dash, and the pump outlet is in place......gonna check it out this afternoon.

Vehicles with a rear-washer have a differant supply bottle/container with  2 pumps, but the wiring should be in place behind the rubber flap under the body that shields the ight connections

This months 'LRW' has a feature on fitting a hard-top/rear wash-wipe to a truck cab 90, & it covers all these items.

It shoud be available in the shops until Friday 1st September

My 90 just has extra pipe fed from the under bonnet water bottle.  It comes behind dash, under trim up passenger side of windscreen then all the way to the back tucked in the internal roof gutter (under the headlining)
