Remember typing the code in for a game from one of the magazines? And then spending hours trying to find the mistake.........

Hmm...you'd have thought they could have found a picture of the correct PC  :?

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_PC

The first PC I worked on, in 1980,  was a Tandy Model II - which used huge 8" floppy discs, BASIC, and CP/M as the O/S. There were loads of different PC's around before IBM & Microsoft dominated the market in the early '80s. In 1977 there were the Tandy TRS-80 Model I, the Commodore PET and the Apple II.

    yep and I remember writing pointless little programs in 'basic' that made some dot move about the screen and finding it fascinating (oh the joys of childhood).

Still got a Commodore 64 plus tape and disk drive and thousands of games up in an attic somewhere  :)
