Well, aided by a guy in A Td5 and (I think) a Nissan Patrol, I rescued a bunch of people stuck in floods in Farnham (Surrey) this evening.
I'd gone out on one rescue trip (to fix a friends PC), and ended up doing two - and nearly ended up stallling the P38A in a foot of water as well, when some prat in a van coming the other way send a bow wave up over my bonnet.
More than a few people got an object lesson in why we choose to drive 4x4s this evening, and I didn't see a single 4x4 driver drive through without helping - though I did see a few turn around without trying.
I got home an hour later, soaked, and with a big grin on my face. I can't remember the last time I had that much fun for free!

Well done to you and the others that helped.

I went for a drive out yesterday evening too, mainly to drive through big puddles, but also with the thought of offering help if required. Although we had a lot of rain, it was not quite enough to get cars stranded - only saw one car turn round for a puddle, a boy racer in a modified Ford Focus. About 5-6 inches was about the deepest water I found!

Damn, I was down in Sussex last night, otherwise I'd have pitched up and helped / played...
