Title: Spot lamp Mountings
Post by: dew1911 on August 14, 2006, 21:35:18
Ok, I've got an A-bar coming towards the end of the month for the 110, and part of it means I'm going to have to move the Turnis on the front.

Now Currently the spots are bolted straight through the bumper, with a large nut underneath. Now obviously this is less than possible with an A-Bar as access to the back of the connection is Zero.

So what bolts do I need to make this work? Would it need a completley different connection or just a different kind of bolt?

Cheers,
David.

eh.......

should juts unbolt of bumper & bolt onto Abar as 99% of spots have the same style of mountings

its a bit like wax on, wax off... but the other way around... and with spots and not wax

take them off the bumper and put them on the a-bar... its as simple as that, ya pleb!

Or am i missing something here?

Dew, your A-bar should (hopefully) have brackets that you can bolt lights to. You should be able to use the existing bolts.

Well dunno about anyone else but when i fitted spots to my a-bar, i bolted it on first then mounted and wired the spots, no problems.

If you do find you cant manage it then slacken the bolts off and the bar will wobble allowing more room, or simply fir them to the bar then bolt it on.

Its hardly rocket science :)

Looking at the one I'm getting there is 2 holes drilled into the bar itself, so there is no way of getting a inside it to a mount a bolt, ya bunch of ninnies!

You is getting a wierd one then !
I would weld a couple of brackets on or even weld the nuts over the holes so you existing bolts thread through and into the bar ! You could just get one with brackets on !

what do you want to get inside it for!? you need a long bolt that goes right through, which basically speaking, is naff

At a guess its got pressed in or welded on nuts so all you do is bolt it through, either that or its got threaded holes but i cant see them lasting well.

Most (all i've seen) have little brackets below.
