well i wanna say a massive thanks to bullfrog. he has done an amazing job on this rack for my disco......... amazing work. he called me a few days ago and said he knew i was looking for one and that he had one. so i went down to see him yesterday morning and a deal was hatched .
so the brownchurch rack was a land rover 90 rack. so the forst thing was to make it fit whick martin did with very little effort. the next bit was to cut the rack so that the rear sunroof on my disco would open. ......with it cut and bits moved around my sunroof now opens with ease........
so today we painted it black all over and put some of the accessories on to it........and did a final fit.
so here she is in all her glory. i want to the overlander look.....well thats what im aiming for anyway
wanna say a massive than ks to bullfrog for all his hard work and being a true gent.......

Looks nice Denviks
Your disco is looking great these days.
Although seems to be lacking in MC stickers
Bullfrog appears to be getting a good reputation on here for great work and good service.

So what did you have to alter to get the 90 rack to fit the Disco?
I have thought about doing this as its far cheaper than a Disco rack

looks mighty fine there m8 :)
though how did u mount the jack on the side of the rack ? any pics ?
-
Thanks there chaps.
I aim to please.
The jack is held on with 14mm bolts with a pair of spacers I had (aprx 1") than a nylock, washer and large wing nut. This is tweaked with adjustable and a hole was drilled or a small padlock.
A 90 is narower than a disco so the legs need re welding at a slight angle.
We also moved the legs as they were spaced to leave the alpine windows clear on a 90. I prefered a more equal look.
It sat very close to the rear subroof so we removed and rewelded a section to leave that clear. we decided it would not need boarding although denviks may add side runners at some stage to offer a walking area whilst leaving the main area clear.
I also rermoved the ladder mounts as these are not needed on the disco.
We re-used them as mounts for the rear work lights chosen as they matched the fronts and sat within the rack offering them some protection.
I am happy to make them from scratch in tube or box for most vehicles .
light, jack, wheel mounts can be added to suit. :)

thanks mate.......its taken about a year to get her to this stage now  . there is a mud club sticker on the truck at the moment. just finding space for more at the moment is getting hard  . trying to make her look good while not over doing it is the key i think....although some may say she looks over done already  .
i cant say enough good things about martins aka bullfrogs work .... he does a brilliant job. im more than happy with the new rack. i couldnt have done it myself and definatly not to this standard. 8) 8)

Erm just a quick point, but as far as I know if your running on the road you have to put a line across the number on the side. I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

whys that then ? maybe someone can shed some light? i,ve seen loads of motors with stickers like that on the side and no line thru them

I think it's a whole "Anti-street racing" thing (Why you'd Street Race a Disco I'm not sure!). Sorry I can't be more specific, I just seem to remember reading it somewhere (I shalt have a dig about).

I used to have a number on my mini and got pulled for that ?
That was a blatent race number though whereas dens is an offocial trial number so may be different
My mate competes in a treasure hunt type thingy and keeps his numbers on all year with no issues.

Supposed to cross them out with black tape; which can look uber-cool too 8)

the MSA declares that any numbers that are on a vehicle whilst moving between sections/events whatever should have the Nos crossed out
