Sorry to stick this on here just alot of the motors have these engines in them so thought more folks may know the answer. there goes
got a 91 disco v8 injection which is not firing on all 8 cyls only 7 have checked the plugs, leads, dissy found one of the plugs was black compared to the rest which were normal colour. check plug and lead and got a spark, the plug smelt of fuel so that must be getting through. disconected the air flow meter and that made no differance. Its been a long time since i have worked on a v8 let alone a petrol engine so anybody got anyideas. dont have a workshop manuel for it (which dont help). So over to you lot what can i try next. or anybody sitting at home board wanting to come play with engine please feel fre to come on down   .
Thanks

So it sounds its on the Electric side and not on the EFI side
Check
timing, replace distrubuiter cap, leads and all spark plugs
And check that the leads are on the right plugs (I got this wrong once)
Might pay to check compression a valve may well be sticking

Thanks for that adjusted the timing with the engine running it does sound better and feels smoother but still think it may be missing. also how do you ajust the idel speed as its a little high now around 1000 rpm

I think the idle speed setting screw is under a tamperproof cap on the throttle body Allan Key is need for adjustment
