Been offered a choice of 2 LPG systems for £275 .
One is new but no instructions and other is still on running rangie.
It seems a good price although I will need a smaller tank as both are large and wont fit where I plan on putting it. (between rear arches in tub)
I have heard rumours that gas is going up soon and BP are decomissioning some of the LPG pumps at stations ?
I have considered a Tdi conversion but really like the V8 power and sound and dont really mind running costs. I just figured at that price it should pay for itself fairly quickly and should add value to vehicle ?
I dont plan on selling soon but you never know !
NickP on here will be helping (I hope) and I can get it certificated locally.

Should half your running costs so depends how many miles you do as to how long payback is.

I have had mine fitted 20 months now and LPG has gone up 10 pence in this time but the freeze on the tax is ending soon but as I have done approx 15000 miles its more than payed for.  Also engine oil and plugs last longer the oil is still clear after 3000 and I have never touched plugs since kit was fitted (apart from taking them out and putting back in).

Just fitted a mutli oint to the LSE, goes like stink and has more than halved the runing costs, plus it's so much better for the engine.  Havn't heard that about BP but I wouldn' tbe surprised if the tax goes up, once they have a decent nuymber of people hooked they reel them in, wasn't that what happened with Deisel?

Thing is LPG is a cleaner fuel and a sensible way of meeting the Euro 5 emissions on Deisels too.  A lot of manufacturers are using fuel additives now to meet the regs and these systems are going wrong.......

BP expensive for lpg 10p/ltr less everywhere elseso have only ever used once. (begruged)

Tax freeze has been supposed to be going for last 5 years but not changed yet....lpg will be half petrol price for forseeable future, at least until manufacturers start building into all new cars.

Go for it you wont regret it.

seems awfully cheap. and that isn't a good thing with LPG, but yes talk to that LPG nut 1st :D

ive paid a lot less than that for LPG kits!

go for it...means you can run a V8 for sensible running costs  :lol:

I want to do my 101. I converted the car last year, so i know how to do it but i havent seen any cheap second hand/new LPG kits for sale :(
It cost me about £400 to do the car (using new kit from the local specialist)

I'm sure you could pick up the bits cheaper here and there, but with a full kit there's nothing extra to buy - exept LPG at about £2.00 per gallon  :lol:  :lol:

I've done about 2000 miles in the Jeep (at around 10mpg), saving about £500  :lol:  :lol:  Yours will do more mpg, so will take longer, but still worth while.

I've been hearing that the tax will go up on LPG since my first DIY install, about 6 years ago, and it has, but only by around 10p litre - a lot less than petrol.

I am sure it will go up at some point, but hopefully in small amounts, and if it does, there are other sources of LPG  :wink:  :wink:

Yes I'd noticed it's gone up 10p a litre, quite a hike really, about 25 %

Thing is LPG is a by-product so it has to sell to someone, we are doing the world a favour really, not using petrol at all, running our cars on waste that has to be burned off anyway whil ever petrol and deisel are still being refined, what's more our cars last longer as does our oil, so the planet wins again.

Feel very smug, LPG drivers, you are doing your bit.
