Title: Disco 1 rear door problem

Whilst out doing the disco owners favourite job ( yes changing a bulb on the upper cluster  :roll: ) i noticed the rear door has dropped slightly, try as i might i cant get the door to readjust so it stops hitting the catch hard and i cant see why or where its moved  :?

ideas or suggestions most welcome

might be worth having a look at the door hinges. My taigate catches the bumper and the lower hinge is well worn,just gotta get round to locating one a fitting it.

yup both my hinges were naffed on mine when i got it, the door needed lifting right up to clear the bumper never mind meet the catch.

I was quoted 55quid a pair from i think it was craddocks, but got a brand new pair off a scrapper luckily

Also worth a squint at the door pillar mounting to the crossmember too, if your body mount has gone it will sag on the door pillar

But as already said about try lifting the door and nine times out of ten it will be the hinges :wink:

A spacer between the bottom hinge and the door pillar sorted mine

on looking close the bottom hinge is wearing a bit but not what i would consider enough to cause it to drop much? body mounts are ok as its a 98 on an S so no probs i can see might try shimming the lower hinge then as suggested

Have you tried adjusting the catch on the door frame as well?

yes mate i,ve tried moving everything and to no avail at the minute but i,m going to have another go saturday and see what happens
