Post by: old joe on August 22, 2006, 07:20:31
Old joe has tin rot of the front inner wings wheel arches.

I can get the new wings from paddocks for £50 each side.

anybody know how hard they are to fit and weld or does anybody now a good welder in the BEDS BUCKS NORTHANTS area who could do this job cheaply or its going to my local garage & at the same time haveing a waxoil treatment

Inner wings are quite an easy job as long as you take the wing and the front doors off. The are usually quite angular so are easy to re-fabricate with steel plate.  I was not a very good welder until I had to MOT my s1 disco in june and found it quite easy after the first week.
Bitumen paint is very good and cheap! would advise under coat /primer first though.
Although this is not finsihed picture got rained off half way through.
