so nothing new there then
I put some of that engine flush stuff in the oil.
Ran the engine for the required time/distance.
Drained the oil and changed the filter.
Put just uner 7L of new oil in. Checked the dipstick and it was 2 inch into the danger zone! I had forgot about the very slight side slope
Had to drain off just over a Litre of the oil to get it within limits.
This means there is about 1L of the old oil still in the engine along with its share of engine flush now all nicely mixed in with the new stuff.
Now the question is do I drain and change the oil again (head says to do this) or say sod it and change the oil in about 1k miles or so or just ignore it all together and change it 6K.

I would say do the oil change again.
Not sure if the engine flush would do any damage but for the sake of a few quid for oil and a filter then a couple of hours time spent is it worth the risk :?:
Supose as well its going to depend on ratio of flush in the oil but if theres instructions saying only run the engine for so long with flush in oil they are going to be there for a reason.

Bob I would drain it off & refill with new, better to be safe than sorry,
John.

Working on the principal that oil is cheaper than metal I would definately change again
-
And I bet you a tenner you have oil leaks you never had before after using that stuff......................................
-
no oil leaks so far .... will change it next week.
This stuff must stay in your system to some degree even after a regular oil change. You cant get all the old stuff out.
Given that the capacity is 6.85L how much do people normaly have to put in after a change?

7 litres on a 200 tdi puts it bang on the mark
