Title: Early Discovery Chassis Number location
Post by: petergalileo on August 24, 2006, 13:15:38
Supposed to be going to get the motor inspected at my not so local DVLA local office tomorrow for number plate change but cant locate the actual chassis number, its supposed to be located between the steering box mounting bolts according to haynes but I dont have one there, any ideas.

Its a really early one G plate.

Should also have a stamped in number on the chassis, in the haynes its in the middle of the 4 steering box to chassis mounting bolts apparently.

Well I went to the DVLA local office, chap inspected the VIN plate on the slam panel and I pretended not to know anything about a stamped in chassis number at all.  Chap scoured the chassis and then said that he found 3 numbers that were apparently on the off side front of the chassis behind the coil spring turret.

Having got home I had a look and I still cant see it ! but at least its been inspected.  Thanks for the help guys.
