As the long winter nights draw in, I fear that stripping Piglet and making him into something else is on the cards......
Maybe remove the roof....
Maybe switch the front with a Defender?
Maybe simply turn him into a 100" Defender?
Ideas please....or some readies to save him from my amatuer attempts at being different.....
-
Keep him, at least till I have the money to take him off your hands :)
-
I've gone for the garden ornament option....... so he can stay the same :D
Piglet is an icon and deserves to be used or retired to a museum (but he'd hate it).
-
i've gone for the above
dazza
-
Me gone for roofless as that is something you dont see so it will still stand out
-
stripping Piglet and making him into something else is on the cards...
I vote someone call the rspca before a poor little piggy is subjected to such cruelty!
Seriously, what is piglet?

Don't scrap/break him!!

XL 391 (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?f=141&h=&t=234566)
Almost make you weep

Totally gutted who in their right mind would do that to a piece of history

How could you do that for a few quid???
It's a real shame
-
I want to buy him...but i dont have the spare cash.
Fancy doing hire purchase?

Fancy doing hire purchase?
I still think we should all get the chance to rent piglet for a weekends fun :D
Usual restrictions apply, break him and consider him sold
-
dontaition to home of the ledged perhaps :?:
Or a charity raffle for MC :?:
-
if you break piglet i dibs the lockers
-
Why not hold a raffle exclusively for mud club members ?
with 3672 current members if 20% bought a ticket at say £10 each (surely worth a punt ?) then that would raise the thick end of £7500 - anything over what Neil wants could go to charity
I'd buy a ticket (maybe 2 !) and I am sure many others would too
Just a thought.......................................
-
Yeah!
Do it, do it!!!
-
Mud club already have a paypal account so this would be an easy way to collect entries
This way Neil gets his dosh, Piglet stays in the mud club and just maybe some charity may benefit
-
why dont you simply lower the asking price to a realistic number?
-
Can't see anywhere that "for sale" is mentioned ;-) Oh and I *did* lower the asking price.
-
There's a nice 100" round this way that's Defender outer panels bolted / welded and hammered onto a Discovery floor pan and chassis - certainly looks the biz
-
I would have voted...but there was no option for 'bobtailing'
(Well sometime they look good  )
-
Voted "want to buy" although the cash is currently unavailable. Can't believe a site admin is considering trashing an icon :(

I say race him, but then I would, wouldn't I!
-

AND stick a diesel in it !!
-
Told you Neil - I'll look after him. He'd be close to home and you could come and see him whenever you like.
-
Hmmmm...tempting Henry...tempting. Although he'd have to shed a *lot* of excess weight!

That's easily done!
In fact the process of shedding weight would mitigate any costs that you might incur whilst 'converting'!

Start an orderly queue here for bits but I'm at the front :P )
-
Give him a whole new look with a Dakar shell!
-
Another vote for a raffle! I will take 2 tickets :D
-
I'll take 95% of the raffle tickets
-
You could try for the expidition preperation version nelly, give you a reason to get a roofrack on there, integrated GPS, fridge etc :)

Put me down for a couple as well.
-
So how bad have things got? given that I run a 1988 Range Rover I can't imagine Piglet is BER.
-
BER? Er...no - he's fine. But I spend all my time driving something else.
Only problem he has is a slight blow on the drivers side downpipe which I am trying to sort :-)
-
Erm, Neil, I think you are forgetting something here.
When I need a spare car (as I have done in the past when the TD5 is otherwise being fixed) what am I going to do if you get rid of Piglet.
I mean, how selfish can you be
-
Good point :-)
