Is that a Trac edge tyre I see. one of my works D90s still has the orginal set after 65k. A most impressive bit of rubber. Your wheel looks smart too.
-
Oh my god.... How long did they take to rub down?
-
In total I can strip a wheel down ready to paint in about 45 minutes, 10 to put a layer of paint down, 4 hour wait then another ten, hour to dry.
I do them over two days as I work mornings.

Indeed it is, I got 4 others as well. Got a good 13mm of tread left on so they should be good for many-a-mile yet. I seem to have had a lot of people comment on those lol, Just luck of the draw that they came on the 110.

Hey! That's a different wheel..the balance weights are all different
I find that hammerite makes it much easier - kick off big lumps, paint, wait, paint ;-)
-
Ok I didn't number them or owt - Just stuck the first one on the pile back on the Landie so we can get it started and moving again.
That's a point - Am I going to mess it up not putting them on in the right order, weights and all.

No.
-
you have done a good job there, nice looking wheels make all the difference in my opinion.

No you're not going to mess it up. The weighs just balance the tyres out on the rim, as you get imperfections in tyres no matter what at the moment so the weights just balance it all out.
I've got the rims painted up on my 2A now too, but no piccies yet. You did do a good job looking at those photos though Dave. Keep it up.

Black Hammerite Smooth. £6.00 on offer from Wilkinsons. Going to take me 2 tins to do all 5 wheels and the spare carrier.

Thanks :) Proud of them myself. Especially with the hubs and nuts done as well.

Nice and shiney
We used matt black aerosol when painting SWMBO's wheels.
If they chip, just re-spray.
Took a total of 1 hour.

Can I ask why Black on a light Blue landy ?
Why not silver or White ?
-
Shame they don't make Trac Edge anymore do they?

Because there is no Silver or while on the 110 (excusing the County stickers) but there is a black front bumper and rear crossmember. Plus I just like black wheels.

As far as I know you can get remoulds in the same design, but it's all about weither you trust Remoulds (Personally I don't)
-
Fair comment. I think it would have looked alot better with them white but that is my personal pref. I look at Black wheels and think it makes the car or landy look dirty but you are a member of MC...he he
-
Surley it's in a Landie's best interest to look dirty
They would have been white from the Factory, this is my personal touch ;)
-
I did my wheels in white hammerite, did a bit of a rush job though and its all flaking off now. Did look good straight after though! Well done by the way does looks like a nice job. Maybe with a bit more prep I can do as good a job!
